David Pringle

 

 

David Pringle was born in Edinburgh Scotland.  He graduated from Glasgow University (Bachelor of Music) and then taught composition for four years at Oslo Conservatory of Music, Norway.  While in Scandanavia he played with several American Jazz musicians - Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Dexter Gordon & Don Byas.  David returned to London to play at Talk of the Town and accompanied Judy Garland in performance there just before her death.

For the last 25 years David has been employed as a session musician, arranger and musical director for both television and the recordng industry. He has appeared on British Televsion for both BBC & ITV. David is one of the most successful T.V. composers in Great Britain.  His best known programs are Wheel of Fortune (Europe), The Pyramid Game, This Morning & Fun House.

David's credits over the years include:  Musical Director for the Royal Command Performance before Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth 11.  The cast included Michael Jackson & Dolly Parton.  Musical Director for "Hoagy-The Old Music Master" - a television production of Hoagy Carmichael's songs which won the gold medal at the International Film & TV Festival in New York in 1982.  Composer for several TV films including:  Northern Lights, The Old master, Stan's First Night, The Steamie & Dreaming, etc...  Musical Director and Piano Soloist on 9 CDs with his own orchestra, "The Gaelforce Orchestra."
